Faith learned and lived

Earn Your Hammer is our guided course in sacred lore, the gods and goddesses, cosmology, the Elder Futhark, and the responsibilities of family and community. Through nine sections of study, understanding, and practice, we prepare to demonstrate our knowledge and earn recognition within the Wolf Pack. The hammer represents learning carried into daily life.

Nine sections. Three experiences.

Every section follows Study, Understanding, and Practice. Learn the material, explain it through our 14 Tenets, and complete an activity that brings the teaching into ordinary life. Adults and learners aged thirteen and older can work at their own pace. Short reading segments and clear questions support careful learning.

How to progress

Complete the automatically graded knowledge check at the end of Study. A passing result unlocks Understanding. At the end of Practice, submit your written responses and required demonstrations. An examiner reviews them before the next section opens. The system then makes the next lesson available; it does not automatically award community recognition. You can save your work and revise it after feedback. Speak with your examiner when you need help understanding a question or demonstrating your knowledge.

Your practical work

Choose an activity suitable for your age and circumstances. Individual, household, and community options are provided. Marriage-related examples are alternatives for adults who choose them. Young learners can involve a parent, guardian, or approved mentor. We assess what you learned; private family information and photographs of other people are not required.

Earning the hammer

The course includes writing, explanation, rune practice, and oral storytelling. Completion of online lessons is preparation for recognition. The community’s designated examiner confirms the demonstrations and the final approval. Keep learning after the test: the responsibility represented by the hammer continues in daily life.
